Dionne
Haroutunian, "Standing Witness" - 1999
The combination of a trip to Armenia and a print-residency
at Centrum brought fourth the prints shown. It was an
unusual experience: my hands and artistic skills seemed
to become a vessel for my lifelong quest to define my
place and role on this planet. As the work developed,
I understood that my power as a human being resides in
standing witness: first, seeing, then, reporting.
Highlights of the Year:
-
King County Special Project grant
- Centrum
Arts Center artist-in-residence Award
