Dionne Haroutunian, Correlations
“Correlations” is a series of work inspired by places I have visited, and the ways in which people have left their marks on them. I am interested in creating a dialog between what is obvious to the eye, and my emotional response while observing a landscape. Touched by the mood of a particular environment, I find myself wondering about the lives of the people who had once been an integral part of it. I feel as though I am looking for clues, intent on comprehending a life that isn’t mine.
In my work, I combine etching, drypoint, monotype, collagraph, viscosity, and/or relief, along with some digital printing. Mirroring my interest in the content’s dialog, I enjoy the conversation that is created by the use of multiple techniques.
